Collaborative Group Work in the FLUIDS Project

 The FLUIDS project relies on advanced WWW technologies to support effective collaborative work within its widely-dispersed project team. A shared workspace system is deployed in order to allow uniform interaction despite the use of heterogeneous technical environments. The BSCW (Basic Support for Cooperative Work) environment is a service offered by CoopWWW (TE 2003), a partner project in the Telematics Engineering sector of the Telematics Applications Programme . A shared workspace for the FLUIDS project has been setup on the public BSCW server which is maintained by GMD , the German National Research Center for Information Technology. Although the shared workspace is primarily used to carry out the project work, some parts of it are open to the public and visitors of the workspace may participate actively in a dedicated guest area . The BSCW system provides the necessary means to enable people that are interested in the FLUIDS project to contribute messages, WWW links, and even whole documents. The FLUIDS workspace is accessible through the following persistent URLs :
* http://purl.org/dfki/fluids/public-workspace/

public entry point to the FLUIDS workspace for anonymous users of the BSCW system;

* http://purl.org/dfki/fluids/contribute/

part of the public FLUIDS workspace which allows visitors to contribute messages, hyperlinks, and documents;

* http://purl.org/dfki/fluids/workspace/

entry point for full members of the FLUIDS workspace (access restrictions apply).
