Previous: The Declarative Model
In addition to the graphical tools available to visualize the
knowledge structures of a problem solving model, KSM also provides an
execution monitoring tool which shows the step-by-step evolution of
the reasoning process. This tool uses the representation of the
generic knowledge model and, according to the state of the reasoning,
it attaches coloured labels with the name of the task that is being
realized to the knowledge units that are involved in the reasoning.
These labels have four different colors and meanings:
- Green:
- Represents that a task has been called.
- White:
- It represents that a solution has been found.
- Yellow:
- The same task is called again in order to produce new
results following a non-deterministic search.
- Red:
- Represents a fail in the execution of the method, i.e.
that no solution has been produced.
Figure 10 shows a screen hardcopy of the kind of display
provided by this tool with the public transport management model.
