[mary-users] MARY server 3.1beta1 fail to start

Hi,

(remember you need to subscribe to the list before you can post to it -- 
I fished this one out of the "auto-discard" pile by pure chance...)

The error you describe, a problem in loading a language model for the 
language identifier, has not been reported before. Is this with a 
pristine installation? Which modules did you install? (= which files are 
in MARY TTS/conf directory?)

Has anyone else had the same problem?

A workaround can be to deactivate the language guesser, by deleting the 
line
        de.dfki.lt.mary.modules.LanguageGuessingTextToMaryXML \
from conf/german.config

You will still have language-specific input formats (TEXT_EN and 
TEXT_DE), but no generic TEXT input format.
