[Rock-dev] splitting log files / force logger to start a new file

Hi,

are there any tools for splitting log files?
We are going to have the following situations and need a way to split
the log files into parts when data are available on a specific port.

For on sight data analyses it would be also useful to force the logger
to start a new file without restarting the deployment. So far I saw the
only way to do this is to stop and start the logger task. Are there any
drawbacks for doing so (beside loosing some samples)?

Stream configuration:

stream: camera.frame_raw
--> high resolution
--> logging is turned on and off because of limited disk space without
restarting the deployments (logger.unreportPort)

stream: camera.frame
--> low resolution
--> logging is done all the time

thx

Alex
