[Rock-dev] Handling of "optional" dependencies

Hello,
i just tryed to make our build faster and not building on the robot the 
whole project stack.
for this i wrote in the buildconf/manifest only the "last" packages 
(avalonFront & avalonBack in my case).

Butstill vizkit want's to be build because of the entry in the aggregator:
<depend package="gui/vizkit" optional="1"/>

I thought optional packages should only be build if they are anywhere 
really requested?.
(without optional option in any package or in the buildconf/manifest).

Did i missed something, or did i understand the "optional option" wrong?.
