A little off-topic -- but maybe an interesting read for the holidays:

In the current issue of the c't magazine an interview with the OSRF board member
Prof. Wolfram Burgard regarding ROS is printed (in German, online version not
available yet):

Excerpt of the only question mentioning Orocos:
"c't: Wird es einen Austausch mit anderen Open-Source-Initiativen wie Orocos
oder Joser geben?
Burgard: Natürlich, davon können wir alle ja nur lernen. Als Wissenschaftler
geht es uns schließlich darum, Dinge zu verstehen."

Politically correct. More interesting: In the last question (although intended
differently) the "VHS vs. Betamax" point came up. However, it diverted to the
influence of the "browser war" for Open Source.
