[Rock-dev] odometry package

Hi,

Malgorzata had started to move some odometry code from various locations 
into a unified odometry package. I've picked up this work and will move 
it to gitorious after some cleanup. Please use this package for odometry 
related work, and if you are not happy with it, discuss it. To prevent 
code duplication, please don't keep copies or use old repos. Branch on 
gitorious if you must :)
