Comment:

 Calling Qt::Application.new(ARGV) triggers the bug.
 I added a workaround to vizkit. LC_ALL is now set to
 'C' before calling Qt::Application.new(ARGV) and reset
 to it's previous value afterwards. This fixes the bug
 on my system.
 Felix, can you confirm the fix ?
