 I have set up a transformer and want to use it without interpolation (just
 want the latest sample).

 If I send only one sample of each stream, it does not work. I could track
 it down to the fact that all transformations are fed to the stream aligner
 and ONLY when they get out of it are they considered by the transformation
 elements.

 I believe that it is not intended that way -- i.e. without interpolation I
 should simply get the latest state.
