Just tried troght a VPN tunnel:

I got the same error as i run it a second time in the shell...
...it seems ist "just" a random occurring communication problem... (we 
had this also with girorious this was why we introduced the retry 
mechanism).

I recommend to put "large" files that does not need to be versionised 
into a repositroy, and delete them from the git history even this will 
trigger and checkout failure and force the users to delte the local 
checkout (first).
