yes. I'm doing this now.Missing packets are detectable, so...

After thinking a night over this, it makes sense. From the real-time 
perspective. And receiving a bunch of way-two-old packets out of a 
too-big buffer after some time of not being scheduled. Still new to this 
thinking...
