Competence CenterHuman-Centered Visualization |
The Competence Center Human-Centered Visualization (HCV) coordinates and
conducts applied research in the cross-section of Human-Computer
Interaction, Information Visualization and Artificial Intelligence. The
main research work focuses on the areas
- Information Visualization: Development of new mechanisms and metaphors for a situation-aware visual presentation of abstract (i.e. non-physical) data.
- Graphical Interaction: Development of intuitive mechanisms for human-computer interaction that require a minimal cognitive effort for understanding; user-centric design of paradigms for human-computer interaction, evaluation of interaction mechanisms.
- Intelligent Visual Presentation: Development of visualization techniques that utilize Artificial Intelligence technologies like ontologies, user-, context-, and task-models for optimal visual presentations with respect to the user’s situation.
