About Me

I am a researcher at the Language Technology Lab at DFKI.

My current research work is funded by the META-NET project where I lead the development of the META-SHARE platform for exchange of language resources.

I have studied computer science at Saarland University and submitted my diploma thesis in July 2007. My PhD project is titled «Community-based Machine Translation».

A man provided with paper, pencil, and rubber, and subject to strict discipline, is in effect a universal machine.

Alan M. Turing

My research interests are:

Machine Translation
Combining both Statistical and Rule-based Machine Translation into working, hybrid systems.
Extending MT evaluation efforts from automated scores to human annotation of translation results.
Knowledge Management
Creating a scalable, distributed network providing access to language resources.
Information Extraction
Retrieving information about companies or products from various sources and converting this data into structured form.
