User Modeling: Proceedings of the Sixth International Conference, UM97
Edited by Anthony Jameson, Cécile Paris, and Carlo Tasso
Springer Wien New York, 1997
Via this page, you can access the complete proceedings volume of UM97, the Sixth International Conference on User Modeling. UM97 was held in Chia Laguna, Sardinia, from 2-5 June 1997.
Each article is available as a PostScript file with gzip compression. A wide
variety of compression programs and Postscript viewers is available on most
platforms to uncompress and view these files.
These files are all stored on
this Web site, so you don't have to worry about individual articles being
unavailable or unreadable.
Users who for some reason cannot handle gzip
compression can access versions with zip compression - as well as uncompressed
versions (which may take a long time to download) - via the Web site of UM97.
You can access the individual articles in the traditional way via the Table of Contents. By selecting an article you will access a page with various types of information about the article, including a link to the PostScript file.
A richer index of the full papers and the poster summaries is provided by the Reader's Guide.
Although some on-line previewers have difficulty with some of the files, there have been no reports of difficulties in printing the files on PostScript-capable laser printers (on European A4 or U.S. letter paper).
The page numbering in the on-line versions is the same as in the printed proceedings volume.
Faced with an imprecise citation like "Proceedings of UM97", many readers will have no idea of how to get hold of the article in question.
LaTeX users can copy the BibTeX entry given on the page with the article's abstract--or download the BibTeX database for the entire volume.
