CloudiFacturing

Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing

Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing

  • Duration:

Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing

The project aims to digitise the manufacturing sector, and only a few European companies are currently benefiting from digitisation. From this perspective, the cloudification of services has become the ideal enabler in production digitization. Successful European initiatives such as CloudFlow, CloudSME and Fortissimo have demonstrated the benefits of cloud engineering services by combining HPC resources, computing tools and cloud computing platforms.

With the help of the CloudiFacturing platform, manufacturing SMEs are able to calculate and solve problems that cannot be solved without Cloud and HPC technology, making them more competitive by reducing development times for innovative products with better performance. The results of these initiatives promote engineering and, in part, prototyping processes within the production workflow. However, the monitoring and optimization of production processes has not yet benefited significantly from an integrated information workflow and a simulation loop based on online production data.

The aim of the CloudiFacturing project is to improve the competitiveness and resource efficiency of manufacturing SMEs and a promotion of environmental services in the sense of the vision of Factories 4.0.

The mission of CloudiFacturing is the

  • optimization of production processes,
  • optimization of the producibility by Cloud/HPC-based modelling and simulation,
  • use of online factory data and advanced data analysis.

A Digital Marketplace will

  • provide services for advanced data analytics, to pave the way toward manufacturing analytics,
  • simulate and optimize production processes with real-time support.

Open Call

CloudiFacturing will run experiments to demonstrate and improve the relevance of the provided technology and the proposed Marketplace. 2 Open Calls for 14 cross-national experiments in the field of manufacturing will be funded by the project.

Who is invited to participate via Open Call?

  1. ) End users (manufacturing companies)
  2. ) Independent Software Vendors (SMEs, mid-caps and big companies from Member States)

The Open Calls will be published July 2018 and July 2019. Details of the Open Call
