Cyber-Physical Production Systems - Increasing Productivity and Flexibility for Small and Medium-sized Businesses by Interconnecting Intelligent Systems in Factories

Cyber-Physical Production Systems - Increasing Productivity and Flexibility for Small and Medium-sized Businesses by Interconnecting Intelligent Systems in Factories

  • Duration:

The goal in the project CyPros, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, is to create a representative spectrum of cyber-physical system-modules for production and logistic systems. In order to reach that goal, a reference architecture will be developed, which can be used as a conceptual and methodological foundation for the application in existing production environments. With the help of this reference architecture and the developed cyber-physical system-modules, the manufacturing industry can achieve a tremendous increase in productivity and flexibility.

The project CyProS will be realized in three phases:

Phase 1: Development of a reference architecture and a representative spectrum of cyber-physical system-modules for production and logistic systems.

Phase 2: Provision of universal approaches, utilities and platforms to rollout cyber-physical production systems.

Phase 3: Creation of the technical and methodological foundation for the profitable operation of cyber-physical production-systems and their realization in existing production environments.
