Coverage-Directed Stimuli Generation for Characterization of RF Amplifiers

Functional coverage allows to measure the progressin verification and as a consequence allows to ensure highverification quality. However, this requires significant manualeffort in particular to achieve high coverage.In this paper we propose a coverage-directed stimuli gen-eration approach for the characterization ofRadio Frequency(RF) amplifiers. An output coverage analysis in combination witherror calculation steers the stimuli generation towards coverageclosure. We provide a case study using three industrialLow NoiseAmplifiers(LNAs) to demonstrate the applicability and efficacyof our approach.
