Language Resources, Language Technologies, Text Mining, the Semantic Web: How Interoperability of Machines can help Humans in the Multilingual Web

Zusammenfassung
We provide an overview about technological foundations for automatic processing of content in the multilingual Web. Then we provide examples of technological gaps that hinder the application of these technologies for high quality applications e.g. in the area of machine translation. These gaps can be filled by concrete lines of action, involving Semantic Web and other technologies to foster interoperability between language related technologies. Finally we introduce META-NET, a project that helps to bring the key players together that will be able to take these actions.
