Abstrakt

This paper describes strategies to im-prove an existing web-based computer-aided translation (CAT) tool entitledCAT-aLog Online.CATaLog Onlineprovides apost-editing environment with simple yethelpful project management tools. It of-fers translation suggestions from transla-tion memories (TM), machine translation(MT), and automatic post-editing (APE)and records detailed logs of post-editingactivities. To test the new approaches pro-posed in this paper, we carried out a userstudy on an English–German translationtask usingCATaLog Online. User feed-back revealed that the users preferred usingCATaLog Onlineover existing CAT toolsin some respects, especially by selectingthe output of the MT system and taking ad-vantage of the color scheme for TM sug-gestions.
