Immersive Quantified Learning Lab

The Immersive Quantified Learning Lab (iQL) is a cyber-physical learning environment with technology-based, interactive communication media. These technologies are used to analyze individual preferences in a sensor-based way and thus to model teaching-learning processes and optimize concepts. Using intelligent analysis and deep learning methods, individual support measures will be provided for each age group. Teaching and learning content and cognitive behaviour, emotional state (e.g. stress) and motor activity (e.g. scientific-technical experimentation) are recorded and processed synchronously based on sensors.

Sensors allow us to gain a direct insight into processes and states that would otherwise be invisible to outside observers. Does a person feel uncomfortable in the learning situation set for him or her; is the task set too difficult to be processed or do the environmental conditions induce stress, which has a negative effect on the efficiency of task accomplishment? In order to be able to measure such conditions, we rely on a large number of sensors.

iQL provides insight into the latest sensor technologies such as electro-ocular glasses, electro-dermal bracelets, eye-trackers or augmented reality glasses and how they can be used in learning and working scenarios to measure the cognitive state of subjects and to create conditions that reduce cognitive stress and increase efficiency.
