Travel Information

Saarbrücken is a charming city in the south-west of Germany close to the border to France; about 140 minutes by train from Frankfurt airport and Luxemburg airport depending on the time of the day. It is also possible to come directly to Saarbrücken airport from a number of European cities including Luxemburg and Berlin.
All courses of the summer school will be given on the campus of the Saarland University where also the DFKI site resides.

This campus is situated in a wooded area outside the city centre of Saarbrücken; the city of  Saarbrücken, the 1000 year old capital of the Saarland region, has around 0.2 million inhabitants and a few attractive features, in particular its geographical closeness to France, which is reflected in the Saarbrücken culture and cuisine.

EASSS'2000 will take place the week before ECAI'2000 (Berlin, Germany). Travel from Saarbrücken to ECAI'2000 by plane or train is straightforward.
