MIZAR
,
the project co-ordinator for FLUIDS
, undertakes research, design and
production of systems and software for the automation of traffic and
transportation.
The company consists of about twenty highly qualified researchers and
engineers who have built up considerable knowledge in the field
through their active participation in advanced research programmes and
in practical technological applications.
Specialisation include mathematical modelling, control and information
system applications and large-scale system design.
MIZAR Automazione S.p.A. was founded in 1981 by a team of
university level researchers and control engineers.
MIZAR has been active in the PROMETHEUS (PRO-GEN)
programme (since 1986) and in several projects in the EU's
(DG XIII
)
Transport and Telematics programme DRIVE (Dedicated
Road Infrastructure for Vehicle safety
inEurope).
Within DRIVE I MIZAR was involved in
SECFO, VAMOS, DOMINC and CAR-GOES.
Within DRIVE II MIZAR has been involved in
QUARTET (as responsible for the management and co-ordination),
GEMINI (as co-ordinator of the Italian activities),
LLAMD/MARGOT (as project manager of the LLAMD
sub-project MARGOT), PROMPT, PRIMAVERA,
EAVES, and TESCO.
In the framework of the DRIVE II programme, the company was
also active in Topic Groups and Area work.
Besides direct participation in Area 3, Topic Groups 8 and 10,
MIZAR provided the chairman and rapporteur of Topic Group 10.
MIZAR has also been represented in the following
DRIVE Task Forces: IVIS, PLATO and SATIN.
Furthermore MIZAR provides members on the IVHS
America panel of experts.
