TEMSIS is designing and implementing an environmental information system as part of a transnational cooperation between the communities in the German-French urban agglomeration, Moselle Est and Stadtverband Saarbrücken. Networked information kiosks will be installed in a number of communities to provide public and expert environmental information. Regional maps will be available in combination with topographic maps, pictures, tables and textual descriptions in either of the two languages.
DFKI's department for tele-cooperation, the Siemens Telekooperationszentrum, is responsible for the development of the demonstrator systems. The Language Technology Lab contributes through the generation of summarizing texts that highlight e.g. the development of measurement results over time.
