The topic field "Generative AI - Foundation and Large Language Models" at DFKI is headed by Christoph Maerz and focuses on the development and integration of language and foundation models in the digital transformation of industry and society. This area is dedicated to the creation of a central hub to serve as a node for innovative developments and collaborations.
The latest methods and software for processing text, language and knowledge are developed and tested for the realization of industrial projects and transfer labs. The department also aims to integrate LLMs into existing projects in order to increase their performance and efficiency, such as in the project coMem.
Another focus is the development of a general multi-agent system (MAS) based on large language models. Such systems are designed to handle complex tasks in dynamic environments and improve the interaction between AI systems.
