yes it is different, we have our own version of mixed excitation for 
example, also trees are handled in a more direct simple way, the context

both files contain context (linguistic) features, in different formats, 
and maybe not the same features.

Maybe you might consider to create language support for Brasilian 
Portuges in Mary, it might be straightforward since you have already 
your modules in java. Please have a look to the wiki page which explains 
how to add a language in MARY.

Actually in the mailing list, there is another person working in 
Brasilian Portuges, I guess they have added some support for this 
language in MARY.
