Hi,
I just discussed the possibility to use "github pages" to host the
website with Kai from "rock-simulation". (https://pages.github.com/)
They had just set up their doc there:
http://rock-simulation.github.io/mars/
Currently the rock-robotics.org page is generated and uploaded by the
dfki buildserver. It is also hosted by the DFKI.
Moving to github pages would make the page DFKI independent, which i
personally like.
Setup is quite easy and the page then resides in a git repository in
rock.core named "rock-core.github.io"
Additionally the content is automatically updated after someone pushed
the repo. Additionally it is automatically processed by jekyll while
updating so +1 for using jekyll.
We could set up the page in the new repo and figure out a way to update
the Task APIs automatically (only them) from our buildserver.
This way, the site would be really community maintained and content
updates can directly be pushed to the repo and will be updated directly
on the homepage. Currently the update is only done after an successful
build of all packages (API update), which can take several months sometimes.
Kind regards,
Steffen
