About Me

I am researcher at DFKI's Language Technology Lab and currently working in the EU project EXCITEMENT. My research focusses on the exploration of customer interactions using textual inference.

In 2012, I was selected as participant of the Software Campus programme.

From 2010 to 2012, I was responsible for coordinating the author teams of the META-NET White Paper series "Europe's Languages in the Digital Age", which reports on the state of language technology support for 30 European languages. I'm also co-author of the volume on the German language: The German Language in the Digital Age.

In the past, I've acquired and conducted industrial projects in the field of intelligent enterprise search.

Together with Hubert Truckenbrodt, I am working on an introductory book on Phonetics and Phonology.
