Alfred Kobsa has initiated the activity to build up the large Artificial Intelligence bibliography many years ago and he took care for this so-called LIDO project for more than a decade. His valuable work is gratefully acknowledged.
The data gathering for the LIDO project was funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG) within the SFB 314 ``Special Collaborative Program on Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge-based Systems'' and by the Universität des Saarlandes. As LIDO uses its own native data format for bibliographic information, a private initiative was started by the authors to allow easier exploitation of the valuable data within the common LaTeX text processing environment. The improved system resulting from this non-profit activity has been given the name LIDOS.
The BibTeX search within the new LIDOS system is performed with Jeff Erickson's biblook program and the search results are presented using an adopted version of Andy Wood's bibmarkup Perl script.
