Saarbrücken
is a charming city in the south-west of Germany close to the
border to France; about 140 minutes by train from
Frankfurt airport and Luxemburg airport depending on the
time of the day. It is also possible to come directly to Saarbrücken
airport from a number of European cities including Luxemburg
and Berlin.
All courses of the summer school will be given on the campus
of the Saarland University where also the DFKI site resides.

This campus
is situated in a wooded area outside the city centre of Saarbrücken;
the city of Saarbrücken, the 1000 year old capital
of the Saarland region, has around 0.2 million inhabitants
and a few attractive features, in particular its geographical
closeness to France, which is reflected in the Saarbrücken
culture and cuisine.
EASSS'2000
will take place the week before ECAI'2000
(Berlin, Germany). Travel from Saarbrücken to ECAI'2000
by plane or train is straightforward.
