The AI Music Competition in Science Year 2019 – Artificial Intelligence. Anyone can participate and have the chance to win – individually or team-wise! Jury including singer Dillon and DJ and producer Monolink.

Music tools based on artificial intelligence (AI) open new possibilities for music-making – in all styles and also for amateurs. That's why Wissenschaft im Dialog looks for the best co-productions of man and machine in dialogue. All creative compositions are published online and evaluated by our jury. In addition, there is an audience award. Which software and tools are possible? And how does AI music work? Information and inspiration can be found at beatsundbits.de.

Categories & Prices

A submission is possible in one of the three competition categories “young talent”, “beginner” or “KI-Mozart”.
For each category, the following prices will be awarded to the first three winners or winning teams. There will also be an audience prize.

  • Up-and-coming talent
    Prices: 500 €, 300 €, 200 €
    You always wanted to record your own song? You' re between 14 and 17 years old? Then show your AI composition. All you need is a smartphone!
  • Newbies
    Prices: 1.000 €, 600 €, 400 €
    Anyone aged 18 or older who has little experience with music and artificial intelligence can try it out here. With the help of AI tools, you can create your own songs with just a few clicks – but the creative scope is open at the top!
  • AI Mozart
    Prices: 1.500 €, 1000 €, 500 €
    Synthesizers and drum samplers are no foreign words for you? Have you even had experience with AI programs? Advanced participants from the age of 18 can show how creative and innovative they are with the new technology!
  • Audience award
    Prices: 500 €, 300 €, 200 €
    Favourite of the crowd: Among all entries, the audience votes on their favourites and can win attractive prices themselves! The audience voting starts immediately after the competition deadline on 15 October 2019 and will then take place on beatsundbits.de.
