AI Campus

The AI Campus is a pilot project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) focused on developing the prototype for a digital learning platform specifically geared towards AI.

The platform provides free learning opportunities for students, on-the-job learners, and other interested parties with the goal of countering the acute shortage of skilled workers and strengthening a mature approach to the topic of artificial intelligence in the general public.

The openly licensed learning contents encompasses the foundations of AI as well as interdisciplinary research in specific fields (such as machine learning). In addition, there are application-oriented courses that specifically address the needs of individual professional fields or disciplines (such as AI in medicine). The fellowship program supports the integration of learning opportunities into university and corporate education.
Besides knowledge transfer, networking plays a central role: users can network among each other as well as with professors and other subject matter experts. This can be done on the basis of the learning opportunities or within the framework of subject-specific expert labs.

Since October 2019, the AI Campus has been jointly developed by the Stifterverband, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), NEOCOSMO and the mmb Institute,

The learning platform has been online as a beta version since July 2020 and can be accessed at https://ki-campus.org.
