Scalable adaptive production systems via AI-based resilience optimization

In the processing industry a mutable production, in line with Industry 4.0, leads to necessity of fast retooling and learning processes, increased susceptibility to errors and to the necessity of resilience, meaning resistance against internal and external disturbances and changes. The objective of the research project SPAICER is the development of a framework model for AI-based resilience management for production companies within production networks. In the course of hybrid AI-platforms and accompanying economic and legal utilization concepts, the base for ecosystems of Smart Resilience Services for various stakeholder groups is created.

The SPAICER community consists of the core consortium, the associated partners and the SPAICER network. Members of the core consortium, funded by BMWi, are the "German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence" (DFKI), the "Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering" (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University, the "Institute for Technology and Innovation Management" (TIM) at RWTH Aachen University, as well as "Senseering GmbH". The core consortium combines different skills in the field of AI, economic coherences, production- and manufacturing engineering, as well as data-driven process optimization by means of AI-, cloud-, and edge-solutions.

Aside from the core consortium, the associated partners represent a consummate value added network. The associated partners without funding participate in the project within a very early stage. They will be invited to all consortial meetings, have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the project and receive first insights and results.

Partners of the SPAICER network shape the project within the scope of symposia. At their discretion, they are actively integrated regarding conceptual and technical developments. All SPAICER network partners will be continuously informed regarding the progression and results of the project.

The SPAICER core consortium is looking forward to an intense exchange with all the partners. For the implementation phase starting from 01.01.2020, we are still looking for partners from industrial application, manufacturing, mobility, IT and mathematics. Feel free to approach us!
