Accellerating digital transformation in europe by Intelligent NETwork automation - Providing Resilient & secure networks [Operating on Trusted Equipment] to CriTical infrastructures

  • Duration:

The focus of the AI-NET sub-project AI-NET-PROTECT is the provision of automated resilience and secure networks on trusted devices of critical infratructure and companies. PROTECT ensures the protection of critical data, high performance in severe parameters (i.e. latency, throughput, availability) and high robustness of the network infrastructure (against manipulations and attacks). To reach that goal, the project develops a scalable network and node architecture to adress the different critical performance parameters by mixing open and specialized hardware and software including white boxes. Network telemetry and intent based software-defined network management and control offer zero-touch provisioning und support the automation of end-to-end services with the help of artificial intelligence. The main use cases for AI are performance optimization, proactive error and anomaly detection, penetration and weak spot testing as well as security management. High security based on multilayered cryptography, agile crypto functions an quantum-save algorithms are integrated components of the architecture to develop.
